Unistudy Technologies (operating in India under TLD .in) strictly complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. Under this law, our users are recognized as Data Principals and Unistudy acts as a Data Fiduciary. This framework outlines how we fulfill our fiduciary duties and how you can exercise your statutory rights.
admin_panel_settings 1. Rights of Data Principals (Our Users)
As a user of Unistudy, you hold the following rights:
You can request a summary of your personal data processed by us and the third parties with whom it has been shared.
You can edit your academic and account details at any time via your dashboard profile settings.
You can request the deletion of your account. We keep a 7-day soft-delete grace period to prevent accidental data loss, after which data is completely erased.
You can submit grievances regarding any data processing action directly to our Grievance Officer, with responses within 7 business days.
assignment_turned_in 2. Duties of Data Fiduciary (Unistudy)
- Lawful Consent: We collect consent via an explicit, unchecked checkbox during account setup. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Consent Logging: When you activate your account, our authentication handler saves the exact timestamp (`dpdp_consent_at`) to secure user metadata in Supabase.
- Data Security: We implement state-of-the-art technological safeguards (Supabase RLS, SSL/TLS encryption) to prevent data breaches. In case of any breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users immediately.
- Data Localization: Our servers are hosted on secure, localized cloud facilities, ensuring compliance with data transfer rules.
restore_from_trash 3. Soft-Delete (Right to Erasure) Flow Details
To ensure you do not accidentally lose your project code, deliverables, or billing history, we have implemented a 7-day soft-delete:
Go to your Sidebar -> Settings and click "Request Account Deletion". Confirming will schedule your deletion and log you out.
Your files and credentials are kept in a suspended state for exactly 7 days. If you log back in during this period, you can click "Cancel Deletion" to restore full access.
If you do not restore your account within 7 days, your account profile, project records, and files are permanently purged from our database.
